Life at Christ Lutheran Church
Who We Are
Christ Lutheran Church is a member congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), the largest group of Lutherans in the United States. We partner with other ELCA congregations throughout the state of Illinois as a part of the Central/Southern Illinois Synod and with Piatt County congregations of various traditions through the Monticello Ministerial Alliance.
What We Believe
Understanding the Bible
- We approach the Bible with devotion and thankfulness for the abundant grace that God’s Word brings.
Holy Communion
- We practice Open Communion, meaning that you are welcome to the table if you believe that Jesus Christ died for the forgiveness of your sins.
God’s Work, Our Hands
- This motto of the ELCA speaks to the joy we have in serving the community and helping people.
Christ Lutheran Church is active in the community. Our members deliver peace meals, build ramps for the elderly, donate time and money to provide food, school and infant supplies for those in need.
